Ocean State Senior Olympics
Bryant University - Smithfield, RI
June 11, 2006

The day started out cold and breezy but by opening
ceremonies the sun was warming up the track

Let the Games begin!

Bob wanted to see how far he could shoot his big
rubber band. Strange warm-up technique.

I also want to thank Bob for the tasteful presentation of my
missing Connecticut Senior Games silver medal -
in the men's room while I'm busy at the urinal!
Thanks Bobby!!?

New MVTC member Henry DeForest (left) with MVTC member John Polevy

John Polevy with long-time MVTC friend, and now new member, Spencer Parrish

Here they come - a nearly all-MVTC 200m heat
(L-R) Roger Pierce, Neil Steinberg, Bob Segal, Charlie Kelley,
John Brooks, Rob Porcaro, Carroll Blake

By the way, doesn't Neil look good in a red speedsuit?

There they go! Funny how Neil's suit has turned blue (in lane 6).

(L-R) Warren Graff, Carroll (Butch) Blake, Rob Porcaro, 'Prime Time' Pierce

MVTC Wish List #1 - Sprinter and sometimes miler, Mary Harada

Someone else on my Wish List for Mass Velocity - half-miler, Jon Tetherly

Spencer finally signed-up for Mass Velocity. Was there any event he
didn't compete in?

Mass Velocity one-lappers (400m):
(L-R) Warren, Charlie, Tom, Butch, Bobby and Roger
A word about Tom Gillen - I think we now know why he often wears a hat
and based on his performances, should be considered Mass Velocity's
MOST IMPROVED this year.

A true, all-Mass Velocity heat in the 400m:
(L-R) Charlie, Tom, Bobby (hidden behind Tom), Warren, Roger and Butch

Coming around the final turn

Charlie dips at the finish

At Roger's insistence, I sneak into this photo at the end of a good meet.
It was great to see so many Mass Velocity guys wearing their red uniforms.
We're looking like and running like a great team!
