Welcome to the Mass Velocity Track Club

What better way to culminate a great Indoor Season than
three days of competition and friendship at "The Reggie"

Mass Velocity Track Club was well-represented in almost every age group
in every heat of every sprint event

Starting with the Women's 60m and Paula Fortuna on the left

The Rev. Dick Camp blasts out of the blocks in the M65 heat

As does Roger Pierce in the 60m heats for M60

Here's Lee Hess in the M55 heat

Changing pace for a moment,
Mass Velocity friend Mary Harada sets a new World Record for the W70 mile

In the M60, 400 meter race we catch Roger and Warren Graff rounding the far turn
with Roger's arch-nemisis, Peter Crombie, in 2nd place

But with about 50 meters to go, Peter is about to pass Roger and take first place

In one M55 heat of the 400m Carroll "Butch" Blake (far left) challenges for the lead
and Ralph Souppa is on the turn wearing his Mass Velocity uniform

In another M55 heat, Tucker "Bullet" Taft sets a blistering pace only to realize ...

...there's another lap to go, and here Charlie Kelley charges to the front down the stretch

Here, John Saxelby took out the competition by blinding them with his shoes

(Okay, I'll stop joking around)

Here's Greg McBride in his 400m heat

and Bobby Segal in his.

These new uniforms look great!
Here's Ralph Souppa in one of many designs available

Sixty-somethings Peter Crombie, Warren Graff and Roger Pierce waiting for their 200m heat

In the W50, 200m Finals, MVTC's Gail Johns-Rees takes a bronze medal

MVTC's Paula Fortuna in the W45 200m finals

And in the W35 200m Final, MVTC's Laura Barre takes Silver

Here are Mass Velocity's three outstanding women sprinters

Speaking of outstanding - here's your Mass Velocity Executive Board, Tucker Taft, Larry Libow and Bobby Segal out standing around the infield during the 200m finals.

Definately NOT standing around is Roger Pierce charging hard to the finish in the M60 200m Final

MVTC's Greg McBride in the M55 200m Final

Greg, Roger, Carroll and Warren after they competed in the 200m Finals

Carroll "Butch" Blake standing next to Bill Collins in the M55 200m finalists group

Fierce competitors on the track - fast friends off the track, Aussie Peter Crombie and our own Roger Pierce

And here's my favorite photo - Bill Collins and Larry Libow.
I just knew I'd end up in the same 200m heat with Bill but it actually worked out just fine.
With all eyes on Bill, no one saw me sneaking over the finish line from waaaaay back.
And because I was in lane 2 and Bill was in 4 (and because it was 200m) I'm telling my granddaughter -
Bill Collins couldn't catch me!
