City of Residence: West Newbury State: MA Date of Birth: 06/17/1935 Born Raised: Newton, MA Occupation: retired Former Occupations: college professor of History Family: one husband, two sons Hobbies and Interests: running! travel HS Track: No HighSchool and Events: not available for women way back when College Track: No College and Events: same as above HS-College Achievements: varsity letter in softball HS, played field hockey for Boston Field Hockey Association Age Started Masters: 40-45 Masters Achievements: W 70 American record 1mile, 3k outdoors bunch of national championships in track, outdoor, indoor , x-c distances from 400 to 5k, basically a middle distance runner whose fantasy it is to become a sprinter and perhaps even to hurdle. Track Club: Liberty Athletic Club Any Injuries: stress fracture foot, itband, sprain of foot, lots of little irritating things Reasons Goals for Sprinting: The older I get, the slower I get, the more attractive sprinting becomes - after all who wants to wait for a 70 something year old to finish a 5k on the track or wonder if she is ever going to turn up to the finish line in an x-c race. 100m, 200m looks better and better all the time. Unfortunately I do not have the talent for sprinting but maybe if I hang around sprinters long enough some of it will rub off. |
